Event Posting Guidelines

Our community calendar is a shared resource to help residents stay informed about local events. Anyone can submit an event, but all submissions are reviewed before being posted publicly. Please read the guidelines below to ensure your event qualifies.

What Can Be Posted?

  • Events must be local or relevant to local residents.
  • Events can be hosted by individuals, businesses, organizations, or community groups.
  • Examples of acceptable events: festivals, fundraisers, public meetings, performances, educational workshops, networking events, and community gatherings.

What Cannot Be Posted?

  • Sales, promotions, or special offers from businesses (these are not considered events).
  • Garage sales (if there’s enough interest, we may create a separate garage sale calendar—email calendar@chewelahcreates.org to express interest).
  • Private events (birthday parties, family reunions, etc.).
  • Events that are primarily religious services or gatherings intended for a specific faith community (e.g., worship services, Bible studies, church potlucks).
    • Faith-based organizations are welcome to post events that are open to the general public and not focused on religious instruction, such as concerts, fundraisers, or service projects.
  • Events that promote division, discrimination, or exclusion based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, age, sex, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, or other protected characteristics.
    • Events with a specific audience focus (e.g., youth programs, women's retreats) are welcome, as long as they are inclusive and not intended to exclude or discriminate.
